Celebrity Homes - Jennifer Anniston's Midcentury Modern L.A Home

“If I wasn’t an actress, I’d want to be a designer. I love the process. There’s something about picking out fabrics and finishes that feeds my soul.”
I love Jennifer Anniston as an actress but a recent article in  Architectural Digest where she show cases the home she shares with her husband Justin Theroux and their three dogs also tells me she has a fastastic eye as a designer.
The L.A house is surrounded by lush plants and fantastic pool but it is the interior details that caught my eye.
I love the pictures of the couple on the vintage rosewood credenza in the family room.  The living room midcentury modern littered with elegant and classics pieces. The master bedroomsIn the master bedroom has walnut bed with suede headboard and Dolly, one of the couple’s three dogs, lounges on the platform’s pashmina shag carpet.
The bath has a marble tub that is absolutely breathtaking with an amazing view. While my personal tastes are more minimalist I love homes that really speak the personality of its owners and I feel this one such home.
“I look around at my husband and my dogs and our home, and there’s nowhere else I want to be.”

Celebrity Homes - Elizabeth Taylor

Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor Bell Air home is filled with soft pastel colors, Impressionist paintings, personal photographs and her children's craft and art work.

Elizabeth Taylor redecorated the house in 2010 with interior designer Waldo Fernandez.

The painting in the living room include a large landscape by Camille Pissarro and,a smaller one by Vincent van Gogh.

I love the Moroccan inspired Kaftan and beautiful vintage images.

One of my favorite photographs, her dressing table.
The framed picture of the deer is a painting by her daughter when she was a teenager.

"Originally there were four guest rooms, including one upstairs, where I slept. I came to visit once, and it had been turned into a closet! More recently, as the family has grown, we all squished into the house on holidays. I slept on a sofa in the living room a few times. Now we no longer have that gathering space. It was a family house, our house—she made that very clear. My grandmother’s loss is felt deeply. She was the glue that held us together. " Wilding

Celebrity Homes - Alicia Silverstone's Elegant Eco- home

One of my favorite celebrities is Alicia Silverstone. The "Clueless" actress is not just about fame and beauty( well a quirky kind of prettiness), she is also known for being an animal rights and environmental activist. Her house in LA is an eco- friendly home. In an interview with InStyle Magazine , Silverstone opened up about the steps she took in make her living area more green.‘I love living this way,’ Alicia tells the mag. ‘It’s so satisfying and inspiring.’ The actress, shares her L.A. home with musician hubby Christopher Jarecki, has long campaigned to save the environment, and she’s found inventive ways to be green-conscious at home, whether it’s using energy-saving appliances, putting solar panels on the roof, or even recycling the flooring from an old bowling alley to make her table top.”
"Everything we've brought into this house is environmentally sound," declares the actress. With the recent installation of a well-engineered heating and cooling system, her home now draws half as much power from the grid as it used to.

The home was decorated by L.A. designer Sasha Emerson who is known for her playful and free-spirited work. Her signature style has been incorporated in Alicia's home with a mix of modern and vintage furnishings, colorful textiles and bold use of eccentric art and accessories, give her designs a distinctive sense of whimsy.
Her living room sofa, which is upholstered in organic-cotton velvet also has the bookcase wood is from a tree that fell on its own.
In the kitchen's breakfast nook an ornate sofa is paired with weathered metal chairs and a rustic table. The pillows are covered with re-purposed sheets.
Her patio is furnished with plantation grown teak and folding chairs made of recycled wine barrels.
Upstairs balcony with a daybed made of recycled birch

I thought most of his home was too opulent except for the living area. I really don't mind luxury and opulence but a house needs to feel like a home. The staircase is grand and beautiful.
