Alice in Wonderland inspiration for you home

Alice in Wonderland

I am a big fan of 'Alice in Wonderland' so when I found this collection by retrocat1. I thought it was just out of this world. What I love about a lot of this decor it is that is it minimal with the black and white tone. I found a few more on Etsy that you'll love.

Get on with living!

I am not one to sit a read huge articles about design and decorating, (unless they are really good) , I would rather look at pictures of beautiful homes and see what I can 'steal' for my home. But  I do like reading quotes from famous decorators and designers because it 'sums up' their ideals and styles. Sometimes what they say really reinforces what I believe a home should be. Here are some of them,  inspiring words and great advice to help you along as you decorate your home.

“All architecture is shelter, all great architecture is the design of space that contains, cuddles, exalts, or stimulates the persons in that space.” Philip Johnson

“Make your home as comfortable and attractive as possible and then get on with living. There's more to life than decorating.” Albert Hadley

"Have nothing in your home that you don't know to be useful or believe to be beautiful." William Morris

“Design is coming to grips with one's real lifestyle, one's real place in the world. Rooms should not be put together for show but to nourish one's well-being.” Albert Hadley

“Decorating golden rule: Live with what you love.” Unknown

“If you wait until you have enough money to decorate and make your home your own, it will never happen. If you wait until you can afford to buy everything new, you are missing the point. It is the old, the new, the hand-me-down, the collected, the worn but loved things in your home that make it your own.” Stacy Risenmay, Not Just a Housewife

“All rooms ought to look as if they were lived in, and to have so to say, a friendly welcome ready for the incomer.” William Morris

Typography Decor Inspiration

mbartstudios on Etsy
Typography and monograms continue to be popular in the decor world. People love words and letters. So do I.Words inspire me, especially when things get difficult it only takes something I read to change my whole perspective. Like this ceramic plaque, I just love what says.
From a decor perspective typographic decor tends to span a variety of styles, from vintage letterpress or old correspondence imagery to clean modern graphics, often using bold text or individual symbols. There are so many ways to decorate with typography. Using it as a bold piece, collecting your favorite letters and placing them on central attraction on your wall, personalizing your living room or bed room with monogrammed pillows. Or find your own unique way to make a statement. Typographic decor is fun, a way to show off your personality and great a conversation starter.
